From vision
to final frame.

Art begins with an idea.
A great idea comes to life through people who believe in it — and give their craft, their care and their conviction to the whole picture.

The way I see it

Big-picture thinking.
Every-detail care.

The most valuable time on a project is often the time spent before it begins.

I prepare thoroughly. I question the approach, work through the details and connect the creative intention to the practical decisions it will need.

A well-considered decision in preparation can save days on set — and days repairing something that could have been anticipated. For me, preparation is how an idea earns the freedom to become something extraordinary.

One passion.
Many ways to see.

For more than 25 years, my love of image-making has kept me learning. Each discipline answered one question — and opened the door to the next.

From 3D to compositing, from editing to production, and into writing and directing: each step helped me understand the work around my own, and make better decisions within it.

Learning the parts.
Understanding the whole.

Every new skill gave me a better understanding of what an image needs — and what the people making it need from me.

01 / 3D, LIGHT & CODE

Making the image
feel real.

I began as a 3D generalist, then found my focus in lighting, rendering and materials: the moment when the work of many artists comes together as one convincing image.

Photography shaped my eye for light, cameras and lenses. It taught me how to reveal form, bring out the beauty of a surface and make a digital image feel believable.

I also learned to code. Scripts made repetitive work faster and more precise, and helped solve problems that manual tools could not. That same curiosity took me into effects, particles, explosions and fluid simulation.

02 / COMPOSITING & MATCHMOVE

Where separate elements
become one scene.

A beautiful render is only part of the image. Learning compositing taught me how to bring every element into the same visual world.

Matchmove and layout connected that world to the camera. Coding, close observation and photography helped me reconstruct spaces, align perspectives and turn photographs into useful 3D assets.

On set, I learned to capture exactly what post-production would need: locations, objects, surfaces and performers. My work grew into both on-set and in-house VFX supervision — connecting decisions made during the shoot with the work that followed.

03 / EDITING & PRODUCTION

Knowing what the frame
will ask of us.

Editing and colour deepened my understanding of rhythm, continuity and the final image. Production taught me to turn an idea into a plan that people can actually make.

Having worked across the process, I could anticipate what a shooting choice would mean later: for the edit, for the effects and for delivery. Preparing a production became a way of connecting all those decisions from the beginning.

04 / WRITING & DIRECTING

Understanding not just how.
But why.

Writing and directing brought the other disciplines into sharper focus. I began to ask not only how a scene should look, but what it needs to say — and how every choice can serve that intention.

Directing work myself gave that understanding a practical foundation. It helped me speak the director’s language with greater clarity, connect creative ambition to execution, and make decisions in service of the story.

A considered eye.
A practical mind.

I care about the image.
And everything it takes to get there.

More than 25 years across creative and technical disciplines have taught me to see a project from several sides: the intention, the people, the practical constraints and the final result.

I bring that perspective into a room: the curiosity to understand the challenge, the care to prepare properly, and the experience to help a team make confident decisions.

Whatever the context, I begin with the same question: what does this idea need to become its best?
